We live in rural southern
Michigan, and in 2003 started looking for a collie puppy. We were surprised at how few there were. After a lot of research we decided to breed collies and help improve on an already amazing breed. We have one adult male, and two adult females. We breed for intelligence, looks, and personality. Puppies are raised in the house and are used to being around other dogs, cats, children, farm animals, and a lot of people. We do not show our dogs, but they all come from show breeding lines (some AKC and some UKC) and the puppies are definitely show potential. The price of our puppies is for limited pet registration only, so that people that only want a high quality family dog, do not have to pay a huge amount for breeding rights (as long as the puppy goes to a good home, we’re happy.) For people that do want to breed, we do offer full registration for an extra cost, but only for the puppies that have been approved for breeding by the vet ophthalmologist. One of the biggest hereditary problems for Collies is Collie Eye Anomaly, which can be bred out of the lines if you only breed suitable dogs. If you would like more information on this feel free to e-mail me and I would be glad to forward you more on the subject. We do not however make buyers sign a spay/neuter contract for limited registration puppies. Even though we HIGHLY recommend spaying/neutering for dogs not intended for breeding, we feel that this is a medical decision that should be decided between the owner and their veterinarian. Prices are determined by many things and may change from litter to litter, depending on the time of year, current demand for Collie puppies, etc. Puppies come with starter food, puppy kits, a toy from home and tons of information on raising and training your new dog, plus ongoing support from us. We are always willing to help find answers to your questions and problems. Puppies will be reserved by the first deposit received by an approved buyer. Deposits are $100 and are non-refundable unless we cancel the sale. (For example, if you are buying full breeding registration, and your puppy does not meet the approval of the vet ophthalmologist, we would give you the option of having the sale canceled and you would get your deposit back, or have the option of transferring it to a different puppy, or leaving it on the same puppy but only for a pet registration sale.)
